Melvin Bratton is a former American football player who played as a running back in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on December 5, 1964, in Miami, Florida. Bratton played college football at the University of Miami, where he was a standout player for the Hurricanes.
During his college career, Bratton was a key player on the Miami Hurricanes' 1983 national championship team. He was known for his speed, agility, and versatility as a running back, as well as his ability to catch passes out of the backfield.
In 1988, Bratton was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the NFL Draft. He played for the Broncos for two seasons before a devastating knee injury ended his NFL career prematurely.
